Growing up in a remote area of DR of Congo my family relied on ‘bush planes’ for supplies and even travel to and from school. This has resulted in a life long interest in and working with light aircraft. After a short stint in General Aviation I have spent 25 years working as a mechanic, licensed engineer and the last 15 years as chief engineer of the world famous Shuttleworth Collection which includes a number of original and ‘late production’ WW1 types.
My hobbies include display flying with a special interest in early aviation and race aircraft. I have been very fortunate to fly and display a number of WW1 and Edwardian types a well as numerous modern and vintage, light singles and twins. I am a Shuttleworth Collection pilot and chief pilot for WW1AHT with around 1300hrs on tail dragger types.
