Both BE2es have now been certified by the NZ CAA and placed in a container. They are expected in UK on 7 June. In the down time they have now been painted one in 7 Squadron colours in honour of the Squadron’s Centenary on 1 May 2014 and the other in 37 Squadron colours (A2767). The latter is the first to be offered as a gift aircraft if a suitable sponsor can be found and flew from Stow Maries.
To coincide with the BE2e aeroplanes coming to Stow Maries this year, Albatros Productions will be publishing RAF BE2E AT WAR! by Paul R Hare as part of their ongoing Centenary Datafile series for 2014. The book will contain a full history of the aeroplane with many archive photos and colour close ups of the new airworthy repros, plus Ronny Bar profiles and scale drawings.
