Airside 2 – 2026
Twelve years of the Trust. Twenty-five day-long school visits in the academic year just ended. The Albatros at both Stow Maries shows, and the BE2 close to flying again after a long wait for a splined shaft.
And four poem drops over northern France in July — Lochnagar, Thiepval, Le Quesnoy and Le Hamel — carrying poems written by more than 2,000 children from more than fifty schools in twenty-seven countries. Over 7,000 children have now written poems dropped by the Poetry Plane.

Essex primary schools can register for a free school visit — a full day of flight simulators and the story of the Great War in the air.
Schools anywhere in the world can join the Poetry Plane. The children write the poems. We carry them over the Western Front and let them go. The paper is seeded; where it lands, it grows.
