These terms cover two things: using this website, and buying from the Trust’s shop. They are written to be read. If anything is unclear, email info@ww1aviationheritagetrust.co.uk and we will explain.
Who we are
This website and shop are run by WW1 Aviation Heritage Trust Ltd, a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales, No 08753767, and a registered charity, No 1156699. Our registered office is 3 The Willows, North Warnborough, Hook, Hampshire RG29 1DR. Our VAT number is 224 2865 15.
You can contact us by email at info@ww1aviationheritagetrust.co.uk, or by post at the address above. We are a small charity run by volunteers, so email is the quickest way to reach us.
Part 1: Using this website
You are welcome to use it
The website is free to use. You may read it, print pages and share links to it for your own use, for teaching, and for research. Teachers are welcome to use our pages and classroom resources with their pupils.
Photographs, films and text
The words, photographs, films and other material on this site belong to the Trust or to the people who made them, many of whom have let us use their work as a kindness. Where a photographer is credited, the photograph is theirs. Please do not copy material from this site for publication, for sale, or for any commercial use without asking us first. We are usually glad to help, and we can put you in touch with a photographer.
Please use it fairly
Please do not use this website to break the law, to send us anything harmful or offensive, to pretend to be someone else, or to try to get into parts of the site that are not meant for the public. Anything you send us through a form, such as a Great War story, must be yours to send, and must not include other people’s personal details without their agreement.
Accuracy
We take care over the history on this site and check it against the records, but historical sources disagree and we sometimes get things wrong. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will look into it. The site is for general interest and education, and is not professional advice of any kind.
Links and availability
We link to other websites that we think you will find useful, but we are not responsible for what they contain. We try to keep this site running at all times, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of faults.
Your information
How we use any information you give us is explained in our Privacy and Cookie Policy. Giving to the Trust is covered by our Donations Policy.
Part 2: Buying from our shop
This part applies when you buy something from our shop as a private customer. Every sale supports the Trust’s work. Nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
Your order
You will be able to check your order before you pay. Once you have paid, we send you an email confirming your order, and that email is our acceptance of it: from then on we have a contract with you. If we cannot fulfil your order, for example because an item has sold out or we have made a mistake in its price or description, we will tell you and refund you in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling. The delivery charge, and any VAT, are shown at the checkout before you pay. Payment is taken when you place your order, by card or PayPal, and is processed securely by PayPal: we never see your full card number. If we have made an obvious mistake in a price, we will tell you before sending your order and you may cancel it for a full refund.
Delivery
We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom and Europe. Our shop is packed by volunteers, so please allow a little time. We will deliver within 30 days of your order unless we agree otherwise with you, and we will tell you if there is going to be a delay. If we cannot deliver within 30 days, you may cancel and we will refund you in full.
Orders delivered outside the United Kingdom may be charged import VAT, customs duty or handling fees by the country they are sent to. These are set by that country, not by us, and are payable by you when the parcel arrives.
Your order becomes your responsibility once it has been delivered to the address you gave us.
If you change your mind
You have 14 days from the day you receive your order to tell us that you want to cancel it, for any reason. Email us or write to us to say so. You then have a further 14 days to send the items back to us at the address above.
We will refund what you paid for the items and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of getting them back (or of your showing us that you have posted them, if that is sooner). The refund goes back to the card or PayPal account you paid with. When you return something because you have changed your mind, the cost of sending it back is yours, and we may reduce the refund if an item has been used or handled more than you would in a shop.
If something is wrong with your order
Everything we sell must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, please tell us. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015:
- within 30 days of receiving it, you can reject it for a full refund;
- after that, and for up to six months, you can ask us to repair or replace it, and if that does not put it right, you can have a refund;
- after six months, you may still be entitled to a repair, replacement or partial refund, but you may need to show that the fault was there when it was delivered.
We pay the cost of returning faulty or wrong items. For more about your rights, contact Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk.
Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our doing so. We sell our goods for private use, and we are not responsible for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything we have done, please tell us. Our Complaints Procedure explains how we deal with it.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep any protection the law there gives you.
Changes to these terms
We review these terms at least every three years, and when the law changes. The date of the last review is shown at the top of this page. The terms that apply to an order are the ones shown here when you placed it.
